Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on the required tolerance and edge finish, we can cut material up to 1” thick. The thicker the material gets, the more taper you will see.

Our largest machines have 72" x 120" work envelopes.

Any manufacturing process (laser cutting, stamping, shearing) will have some negative effect on the core loss of material as the grain structure at the cutting edge is being deformed in some way. We have not definitively been able to prove one manufacturing method is better than another. When in doubt, consider annealing the material to bring back to original properties.

There are many variables that can affect the overall tolerance we can hold laser cutting. Type of material, part geometry, material thickness, and part size are some factors that play into the equation. Generally speaking, on thin laminations we can hold +/- .001" on small parts or features and +/- .002" on larger parts.
